Senior Islamic Scholar Maulana Zaid Ayyubi Passes Away, Muslim Community Mourns
Mumbai, 27 February 2025 – The demise of Maulana Zaid Ayyubi, a prominent leader of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind and a distinguished Islamic scholar, has left the Muslim community in deep grief. Maulana Ayyubi was known for his profound knowledge, humility, and exemplary leadership. His passing is regarded as an irreparable loss to the Muslim Ummah.
The President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Maharashtra, Maulana Ilyas Khan Falahi, expressed his condolences, stating, “Maulana Ayyubi dedicated his life to spreading Islamic teachings and guiding the community towards righteousness. His contributions in religious education and community development will always be remembered.”
Islamic Education and Contributions
Born in 1947 in Malegaon, Maharashtra, Maulana Zaid Ayyubi received his Islamic education at Mahad Al-Millat, Malegaon. He later served as a teacher at Jamia Al-Huda (Malegaon) and Madrasa Darul Islam (Jalna). Additionally, he played a key role as the Assistant Secretary of the Training Department of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Maharashtra.
Maulana Ayyubi was a renowned scholar of the Quran and Hadith, and his speeches were deeply intellectual and spiritually inspiring. His sermons were filled with strong Islamic references, and he was known for his gentle and persuasive speaking style. He was deeply concerned about the challenges faced by the Muslim community and worked tirelessly for its upliftment.
A Life of Simplicity and Dedication

Although he remained a lifelong member of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Maulana Ayyubi’s influence extended beyond organizational boundaries. He selflessly supported various social and religious initiatives and always prioritized the welfare of the community.
His life was marked by simplicity, humility, and contentment—he never sought fame, position, or power. His personality reflected selflessness and devotion, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who met him.
On 26 February 2025, at the age of 77, Maulana Zaid Ayyubi passed away, leaving behind a legacy of knowledge, wisdom, and service. His departure is an immeasurable loss to the Muslim world.
May Allah grant him Jannat-ul-Firdous and bless the Muslim community with more scholars and leaders like him.
