Yellow Alert in Jalna District May 12–15: Severe Heatwave Warning Issued

Jalna, May 12, 2026. The Jalna District Administration has issued a ‘Yellow Alert’ from May 12 to 15, 2026, based on a warning from the India Meteorological Department (IMD). A severe heatwave is expected to hit the district during this period. Citizens have been urged to take special precautions and follow official health guidelines.

According to the district administration, temperatures are likely to rise sharply between 12 noon and 4 PM. Residents are advised to avoid going outdoors unless absolutely necessary during these hours.

Who Is Most at Risk?

The district administration has specifically warned young children, senior citizens, pregnant women, and outdoor labourers to exercise extra caution during this period.

Heatwave Prevention Tips

  • Drink plenty of water regularly, even if not thirsty.
  • Include ORS, lemon water, buttermilk, and fruit juices in your diet.
  • Carry a cap, towel, or umbrella when going outside.
  • Wear light-coloured, loose, cotton clothing.
  • Outdoor workers should take frequent breaks in shaded areas.
  • Avoid going out between 12 noon and 4 PM.

What to Avoid

  • Avoid tea, coffee, alcohol, or caffeinated drinks in excess.
  • Do not eat high-protein or stale food.
  • Never leave children or pets alone in parked vehicles.

Symptoms of Heatstroke

Watch out for: sudden dizziness or fainting, severe headache, excessive or sudden stoppage of sweating, red hot skin, nausea or vomiting, and difficulty breathing. Seek immediate medical attention if any symptom appears.
