Makkah and Madinah to Experience Warmer Ramadan in 2026

- Ramadan 1447 AH in Makkah and Madinah will see below-average rainfall and slightly higher temperatures.
- Makkah temperatures may increase by up to 1┬░C, Madinah by up to 1.2┬░C above historical averages.
- The forecast to support operational planning for entities serving pilgrims.
The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) has released its preliminary climate outlook for the holy month of Ramadan 1447 AH, predicting warmer and drier conditions than usual in the two holiest cities of Islam.
According to the centerтАЩs seasonal forecast, rainfall totals in both Makkah and Madinah are expected to be lower than historical averages during the month.
Makkah and Madinah receive approximately 4.2 mm and 4.3 mm of rainfall per month, respectively. Any precipitation that does occur is likely to be light rainfall.
Temperatures, conversely, are projected to trend above normal levels. The forecast indicates a maximum increase of around 1┬░C above average in Makkah and up to 1.2┬░C above average in Madinah.
Historically, average temperatures during Ramadan are approximately 26.8┬░C in Makkah and 23.1┬░C in Madinah.
The NCM stated that the seasonal forecast is designed to support preparedness planning and operational readiness, particularly for government entities and service providers catering to the millions of pilgrims and worshippers expected to visit the Two Holy Mosques during Ramadan.
