Jamarat Cooling Overhaul

At the Jamarat facility, 200 traditional spray columns have been replaced with modern misting fans. The upgraded system can serve close to 180,000 pilgrims per hour during the Hajj season.

The work forms part of a wider effort to improve air conditioning across the Jamarat squares, where Kidana is replacing a total of 400 mist fan columns to create a cooler environment for pilgrims performing the stoning ritual.

Rest Areas Along Pedestrian Paths

Kidana has also developed more than 66,000 square metres of rest areas along the pedestrian routes linking the holy sites. The work targets pilgrims travelling on foot between locations during the peak days of the pilgrimage.

The Jamarat is one of the most congested points of the Hajj calendar, where millions of pilgrims gather over three days to perform the symbolic stoning of the devil โ€” a central rite of the pilgrimage. Managing heat and crowd flow at the site is a critical safety priority.
